To all who are interested:

VCP (Virtual Combat Project) has extended an invitation to help with a video project that they are assembling. The videos will demonstrate the proven effective movements and strategies of combat units.

For those of you interested, we are to meet on the {CEF} TeamSpeak on Friday, February 5th at 9:00 PM EST for a briefing and a short session in the game creating a video. The entire session should last one to one-and-a-half hours or as long as everyone will be available.

What: Recording a video demonstration of unit tactics.

Who can come: Anyone who is interested in participating
How this will benefit you: You will learn how to operate as an effective and well trained team
What you need to do attend: PM 2LT-Swaff or Quietus and tell him what time you plan to be there, and how long you plan to attend. This is important so that we can gauge how long the session should last.

I want to thank everybody for taking the time to show up.
I think we learned a few things, mostly to do with the dynamics of making a video in-game.
There are a number of communication problems - things like identifying who is who while in-game and how to effectively give directions when unable to point, gesture, etc.
I also realize that the scope of the session must be very limited; I wanted to do two conflicting things - one was to demonstrate formations while ignoring the terrain  (a difficult and confusing task),  and the other was to demonstrate formations suited to the terrain/map.

2LT-Swaff and I have discussed, and will discuss further, how to develop a more effective approach.

I would like to stress a little about tactics in general.
Tactics are how you fight as a TEAM, as opposed to fighting as an individual.  They are effective and they WILL make a difference.  It doesn't matter what map you are on or who you are up against - having well thought out and practiced tactics works in your favor.  However, for them to be effective everybody must first know what they are and then everybody must practice them together.

Im perhaps the biggest lone wolf in CEF. I need to work on working as a team again. Im used to not working as a group which means if I had someone covering me it meant they were right behind me, giving me away or shooting me

I have two problem with that
1) OK swaff you and you alone move that to the next position

2) would it not be violently thrown back when firing? For example a Naval Destroyer can be pushed a good 10 feet when firing all of its guns in the same direction.
